After 3 long and exhausting flights, I arrived home last night at around midnight with swollen ankles and much sleep deprivation setting in. I unpacked my stuff and attempted to calm down enough to collapse into REM. It's weird how you can get to a certain point of exhaustion and then just not be able to fall asleep. Plus, despite emptying my garbage before leaving, I found myself barraged with stupid fruit flys that seems to have multiplied numerous times while I was gone. Not fun. I swatted at as many as I could muster and then drifted off to sleep. Miraculously, I slept till morning only waking once. This is a rarity for me, even when not jet-lagged. I did get woken up by phone calls though 3 times starting from 8:30. I decided to just get up after the 3rd at 10:30. No biggie. At least I got 8 hours in before hauling my butt out of bed.
School wasn't that bad today either. I haven't felt that tired, thankfully. I thought it'd be worse too, considering my kids had been shuffled from one teacher to another last week just to cover my classes. I think they were so happy to see me, simply because they knew they wouldn't have to have another korean teacher for a while. It certainly does make a person feel loved though when you see a bunch of kids come in to just smile and show happiness at you being back though. Kinda like a big reassurance that you're liked. I played games with most of my classes cuz I couldn't prepare so much without knowing where they were in the books. It was fine for today. They enjoyed it. I'll get back down to regular things next class though. Can't let them get too lazy for too long.
Well...off to the apartment. Maybe something good'll be on the tele.
